SAVE THE AMAZON RAINFOREST AND ADOPT A TREE HERE
Shihuahuaco / Dipteryx micrantha
I am one of the tallest trees in the Amazon rainforest, I can reach up to 50 m high. I am considerate the key to maintaining the biological diversity of the jungle.
My wood is heavy and highly demanded both in carpentry and parquet floors; that’s why they are cutting me down indiscriminately, endangering my species.
Manchinga / Brosimun alicastrum
I can measure up to 45 meters high and 1.5 meters in diameter, not counting my fins (extensions of the lower part of my trunk) which can be very large. At the beginning of my life my flowers are feminine and then they become masculine. To pollinate my flowers I utilise the wind.
Each tree is part of the protection and conservation forest of ARBIO PERÚ, in the rivershed of the Las Piedras river, Tambopata, Madre de Dios.
You can adopt a tree under your name or gift it to someone special.
Why should you adopt a TREE with ARBIO?
They’re great Amazonic trees in danger of illegal logging, ranging from 100 to 1300 years old.
They pump up to 1000 liters of water into the atmosphere daily.
They host LIFE and give food to the Amazonic fauna.
They store great quantities of carbon.
They’re vital for the balance of the ecosystem and global climate.
Each and every one of them has been identified, geolocalyzed and photographed. They’re permanently being studied and monitored.
A virtual certificate stating the species, height, diameter and code of the adopted tree will be sent to you via e-mail.
