We are a non-profit Peruvian association founded in 2010 in Madre de Dios.
We manage and take care of 916 hectares of Amazon forest (2264 acres) in the Las Piedras River basin, Madre de Dios. The organization is led by women and its purpose is to implement forest conservation actions involving civil society and the private sector.
We are implementing 4 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):




What Have We Achieved?
PROTECTION OF THE FOREST
PROTECTION OF THE FOREST
- The protection of 916 hectares of Amazonian forest of the Madre de Dios region with the permanent presence of forestry custodians for 8 years.
- The training of personnel for work in the field and implementation of permanent terrestrial and river patrol activities in the area.
- The construction of a biological station with local materials, including infrastructure with basic services, dining, bathrooms, and a watchtower. Total area of construction is approximately 400m2.
- Path network: 12 km of trails and paths in the forest for patrol and exploration by visitors.
- Basic team operations: new river transportation, group generator, UHF radio for communications, underground water pump system.

- Since 2012: development and implementation of the Unique System for Forest Protection as a microfinance strategy that allows for any internet user to choose a hectare of Amazon forest and sponsor it.
- 2017: development of the application App CensArbol 2.1 for data collection and the systematization of field data.
- 2018: development of the first web prototype of a System of Protection of Great Amazonian Trees.
RESEARCH
RESEARCH TO UNDERSTAND WHAT WE ARE PROTECTING
- Forest Inventory of 300 great trees of species in danger of logging within hectares of the Arbio forest with the systematization of the information for each treed.
- Study and recognition of wild fauna in the area: 25 species of mammals (entre jaguars, pumas, ocelots, deer and tapirs), 70 species of amphibians and reptiles, 250 species of birds. Audiovisual recording.
- Permanent monitoring of mammals by hidden cameras over 3 consecutive years.

- Training of 30 families of chestnut harvesters and farmers in Puerto Maldonado on techniques of forest restauration with Analog Forestry.
- Lead interactive recreational activities with the children and cooperation of the neighboring community in the Las Piedras river basin over 3 consecutive years.
